Rural Health In Northern Outback (RHINO) is James Cook University’s representative body for all students enrolled in a health discipline.
RHINO is the student rural health club of James Cook University in Townsville and Cairns, North Queensland. RHINO was founded in August 2000 with the aim to promote rural health issues and opportunities within the health disciplines of the university– medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology and many more.
RHINO provides many rewarding activities for its members that are both fun and educational.These include trips away to rural locations around North Queensland, guest speakers from around Australia and the world, skills nights, social events, conference attendance and heaps more!
With an ever increasing number of students and their growing interest in rural health, RHINO keeps expanding. In 2009, RHINO extended to the Cairns campus of James Cook University and in 2013 RHINO extended to the Mackay campus.
